Where to get real advice for this machine
Almost everything that changes a cooking answer is a property of the architecture rather than the badge. This is a flex-drawer air fryer, and the Flex-drawer air fryer page carries the cooking guidance that actually applies to it.
Undivided, treat it as a basket machine with more room: times and temperatures transfer unchanged and the extra area means a portion that would have been heaped in a smaller drawer can go in one layer, which is worth more than any time adjustment. Divided, check your own manual for whether each zone is set separately; on the machines we have read it is, so treat each zone as its own small basket and use that zone's own figure where the manual gives one — the zones are not always the same size. Do not carry a whole-drawer figure into a zone, or a zone's figure into the whole drawer: one manufacturer's own table gives a kilogram of chicken wings 22 minutes in a zone and 30 minutes undivided, and changes the temperature as well as the time for a whole chicken and for prawns. The difference from a dual-basket machine is the drawer: pulling it out to shake or turn one food opens both zones and lets the heat out of both, so pair foods that need attention at about the same moments.
Does it genuinely air-fry?
Genuine air frying
Genuine. Removable grids lift food off the drawer floor so air reaches underneath and oil collects below, Tefal states a heating element for each zone, and the manual's thermostat reaches 200°C. One qualification: the two zones share one drawer, so opening it to shake one food lets the heat out of both.
- Air moves fast, not just around
- Air reaches every surface of the food
- Fat and moisture drain away
- Reaches genuine browning temperatures
What we know about this machine
Read from Tefal Dual Easy Fry Flex — Instructions for use (PDF), retrieved on 2026-10-10.
It is rated at 2700 W, which is toward the top of the domestic range and means it recovers temperature quickly after cold food goes in. It has 2 independent zones, so two foods can cook at different temperatures at once — which buys variety rather than volume. Each zone has its own heating element, time and temperature. The one limit the manual states is not to run another cook at a different temperature alongside the 35°C proving programme. There is one drawer, so both zones open together. It runs from 35°C to 200°C, and the low end is genuinely useful: it is enough to dehydrate, prove dough or hold food warm. It is sold as 9 litres, which measures the whole drawer including the space above the food that you must not fill.
The figures above are the manufacturer’s. What they mean for cooking is AirfryerHQ’s reading of them, not a measurement — nobody here has run this machine.

7 figures we could not establish
Each of these says WHY it is missing. “Not recorded by the sources consulted” means the manufacturer does not publish it in the document we read — not that nobody looked, and not that the figure does not exist.

What each setting actually does
Read from the manual. The first column is the name printed on the panel; the second is what that setting is in plain terms, so you can use advice written for somebody else’s appliance.
| On the panel | In plain terms | Starts at | Settable range | Preheat |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Manual | Air fry | Not printed in the manual | 35–200°C | Not stated |
| Prove | Prove dough | 35°C | Adjustable, range not published | Not stated |
- Manual: The one setting whose range the manual prints. Fries, Chicken, Vegetables, Fish and Dessert are named as automatic modes with no time or temperature given for the button itself.
- Prove: For raising dough. The manual says not to start another cook at a different temperature while it is running — the one stated limit on using the two zones independently. The drawer light stays off on this programme.
Questions owners ask about this machine
Answered from this model’s own manual (Tefal Dual Easy Fry Flex — Instructions for use) and nothing else. Where the manual does not address a question, it is not answered here from another machine’s.
What this manual calls the parts
- Removable grid
- The perforated plate the food sits on.Two are supplied, a large one and a smaller one, for the two sides of the divided drawer.
- Drawer
- The part that slides out and holds everything.
- Flexcook divider
- The divider that splits one drawer into two zones.
Other manufacturers use different words for the same parts, and sometimes the same word for a different one. What each part is called, brand by brand.
- Before the first cookWhat do I do before using it for the first time?
- Remove all packaging and any stickers, including the one on the drawer. Wash the drawer and the removable grids in hot water with washing-up liquid and a non-abrasive sponge, or in the dishwasher. The window is the exception: the manual says the outer plastic window must be taken off and washed by hand, and is not dishwasher safe. Wipe the inside and outside with a damp cloth. No empty run is described. In the manual: Before first use.
- Where it stands, and the space it needsHow much space does it need around it?
- A gap of at least 15 cm all round. To stop it overheating, the manual says not to stand it in a corner or below a wall cupboard, and to put nothing on top of it, which it says disrupts the airflow and the result. In the manual: Preparing for use.Why the clearance matters, and where not to stand one
- The parts, and how they go inCan I cook with the divider taken out?
- Yes, and the panel has a button for it. MEGA is described as cooking with the large drawer, without the divider, and it treats the entire drawer as one zone. For two foods the divider goes into the inner slots of the drawer and each side is set separately: zone 1 on the left, zone 2 on the right. Either way, the manual says always to place the grids in the drawer before cooking. In the manual: User interface; Using both zones on synchronisation mode; Using the large drawer (MEGA).
- Opening it while it cooksWhat happens if I pull the drawer out while it is cooking?
- Cooking restarts automatically when the drawer is slid back, which is how the manual expects food to be shaken. There is a limit: if the drawer is not back within five minutes, the panel shows OFF for it. The manual also says the drawer should never be turned upside down with the grid in it; food is lifted out with tongs. In the manual: Using both zones, note after step 11; Using the large drawer, steps 5 and 8.
- Settings the panel does not explainHow do I cook as two zones that finish together, or as one big drawer?
- For two zones, fit the divider in the inner slots of the drawer, set zone 1, press 2 and set zone 2, then press the synchronisation button before starting. HOLD shows against the zone with the shorter cook while it waits for the other. For the whole drawer, take the divider out and press MEGA. Pressing a zone's number a second time switches that zone off.In the manual: Using both zones on synchronisation mode; Using the mega zone.
- How much goes in at onceHow much can I cook at once?
- The manual's rule is its table: never exceed the maximum amount the cooking guide gives, because it affects the result. The guide prints a separate quantity for zone 1, for zone 2 and for the whole drawer, and the three differ for every food, so the larger left zone and the smaller right zone are not interchangeable. No fill line is described. In the manual: Preparing for use, note after step 5; Cooking guide.
- The non-stick coatingWhat does the manual say about the coating?
- That the drawer and the grids have a non-stick coating, and that metal kitchen utensils and abrasive cleaning materials are not to be used on them because they may damage it. The manual does not say what the coating is made of.In the manual: Cleaning. What wears a coating, and when a part is finished

That figure is from this model’s own rating plate or documentation. A model sold under the same marketing name in another market may be different hardware — different code, capacity, wattage or supply — so check the plate on the machine in front of you rather than the name on the box.
A travel plug adapter changes the shape of the pins and nothing else. It does not convert voltage. Whether an appliance built for one mains standard can be used safely on another is a question about a two-kilowatt heating load, and it is one for a qualified electrician rather than for this page.
Error codes and display states
Only what this manufacturer publishes, and only for this manufacturer. A code means whatever the firmware author decided it means, and reading one across from another brand is the commonest way to misdiagnose a fault.
AirfryerHQ does not hold this code for this manufacturer. That is a statement about this catalogue and not about your appliance: most manufacturers publish no code table at all, and a code's meaning is specific to the firmware that produced it. Do not read a meaning across from another brand — check your own manual, and contact the manufacturer if it is not in there.

Which parts go in the dishwasher
Stated as dishwasher safe for this model: Drawer, Grids, Divider. Anything not listed is washed by hand, and the main unit never goes in.
The outer plastic window is not: the manual says to take it off and wash it by hand.

The drawer, grids and divider are dishwasher safe; the outer plastic window must be removed and washed by hand. The heating element is cleaned with a dry brush. An oven dish in silicone, stainless steel, aluminium or terracotta may be used in the drawer. If the drawer is left out for more than five minutes during cooking, the appliance switches off.
Replaceable parts
Read from this machine’s own documentation. Fit is stated only for the models a manufacturer names — it is never inferred from advertised capacity.
Tray
FlexCook divider for the Tefal Dual Easy Fry Flex
The divider that snaps into slots inside the drawer and turns one 9-litre space into a 5.5-litre zone and a 3.5-litre one. Without it the machine can only be used as one large drawer.
You can fit this yourself: It lifts out of the drawer's inner slots. Tefal's manual prints no part number, so ask Tefal for the drawer divider for reference EY9228G1.
The manual names the part but publishes no reference. Quote the model number from the rating label when you contact the manufacturer.
People replace it because: it is lost, or was missing from the box; it is cracked, warped or broken.
Tefal lists the divider as dishwasher safe. The drawer's outer plastic window is not, and is washed by hand.
The reference EY9228G1 is on the appliance's rating label.

What comes with it, and what can be bought for it
The divider and both grids are supplied and are what the cooking guide assumes. Tefal's manual prints no part numbers for them.
Recall and safety status
Recall status not checked
No verified recall or safety notice is currently recorded in AirfryerHQ for this appliance. That is a statement about this catalogue and not about the product: AirfryerHQ holds a small number of checked alerts and is not a copy of the UK register. Check the authority's own register before concluding that an appliance is unaffected.
The Office for Product Safety and Standards publishes the UK register of product safety alerts, reports and recalls on GOV.UK, and Electrical Safety First operates a recall checker for electrical appliances. Registering an appliance with its manufacturer is what makes a direct notification possible.
AirfryerHQ has no recall data feed and has not checked. That is not a clean bill of health — it is an absence of checking, and it is recorded as one. Check the manufacturer’s own recall page and your national product-safety register.
Finding the manual
The document read for this page is Tefal Dual Easy Fry Flex — Instructions for use (PDF), retrieved on 2026-10-10. A different revision, or a booklet for another market, may not match it.
The cooking guide gives every food three ways — zone 1, zone 2 and the whole drawer. Frozen fries at 180°C are 600–1400 g in 25–40 minutes in zone 1, 300–800 g in 25–35 in zone 2, and 400–1750 g in 20–45 with the divider out. Two rows change temperature with the divider: a whole chicken is 160°C in zone 1 and two chickens are 200°C in the whole drawer, and prawns are 200°C in a zone and 160°C in the whole drawer. The manual does not say why. Synchronised cooking holds back the shorter cook so both finish together.
About this model
Not a two-drawer machine: there is one drawer, and a divider that snaps into slots inside it. With the divider in, Tefal states two independent heating elements and separate time and temperature controls for a 5.5-litre zone and a 3.5-litre one. With it out, a button marked MEGA runs the whole drawer as one 9-litre space, which Tefal's product page calls the GiantZone. The practical difference from Tefal's two-drawer model is that food cannot be taken out of one side without opening both.
