Almost everything that changes a cooking answer is a property of how a machine is built rather than of who made it. Find the shape of the thing in your kitchen.

Four air fryer architectures comparedFour chamber shapes side by side. A single-basket air fryer has one deep drawer with one cooking level directly under the element and fan, giving the strongest airflow over a small load. A dual-basket machine has two narrower drawers side by side, each with its own element and fan, so two foods cook at once but each basket is smaller. A flex-drawer machine is a single wide drawer with a removable divider, so it can be one large space or two smaller ones. An oven-style air fryer is a wide box with two or three shelves, holding much more food but moving air across the shelves rather than down through a single basket, so shelf position matters and food usually needs turning.Single basketOne level, strongest airflowDual basketTwo foods at once, each basket smallerFlex drawerOne wide space ortwo, divider outOven-styleHolds much more, shelf position matters
The chamber shape decides the cooking answer far more than the brand does. Deep single baskets move a lot of air past a small load; oven-style chambers hold far more but the shelf nearest the element does more work, which is why the guidance for them differs. The fan and element positions drawn here are typical rather than universal, and the four architectures not shown — multicooker, combination microwave, countertop oven and built-in oven — behave like the oven-style case.
