Combination microwave with air fry

Combination microwave with air fry

Microwave, convection and air fry in one cavity — capable, and the hardest architecture to give general advice for.

What changes in this appliance

On air-fry mode alone, treat it as an oven-style machine: 10–20% longer than a basket and a proper preheat. On a COMBINATION mode, no published air-fryer time applies at all — microwave energy cooks the interior on a completely different schedule, and the manufacturer's own combination charts are the only usable source. The turntable, where fitted, must usually be removed for air frying; check the manual, because the metal accessories some of these ship with must not be used in microwave modes.

Every cooking page on AirfryerHQ is written for a single-drawer basket machine. This is how to read those figures if yours is different.

How it is built

A microwave oven that also offers convection and an air-fry mode, sometimes simultaneously. The combination modes are genuinely powerful and make published cooking times almost meaningless without knowing exactly which mode is running.

Does it genuinely air-fry?

No standards body defines air frying, so these are AirfryerHQ’s own assessment criteria. They are published rather than applied silently, so you can disagree with the reasoning instead of taking a verdict on trust.

  • Air moves fast, not just around — not met
  • Air reaches every surface of the food — met
  • Recovers temperature quickly after loading — not met
  • Fat and moisture drain away — not met
  • Reaches genuine browning temperatures — met

Good at

  • Combination modes cook a jacket potato or a joint far faster than anything else here
  • Replaces two appliances on a crowded worktop
  • Large cavity relative to its footprint

Not good at

  • General air-fryer cooking advice does not transfer to combination modes
  • Metal accessories and microwave modes are a genuine safety interaction — the manual governs
  • Air velocity is the lowest of any architecture that claims the capability
