Dual-basket air fryer
Philips 5000 Series Dual Basket Airfryer with Steam NA555
Model NA555 (also NA555/09, NA55x) — United Kingdom, European Union
Two drawers that are not twins: the 6-litre one steams, the 3-litre one only air fries, and the manual prints a different cooking time for the same food in each.

Where to get real advice for this machine
Almost everything that changes a cooking answer is a property of the architecture rather than the badge. This is a dual-basket air fryer, and the Dual-basket air fryer page carries the cooking guidance that actually applies to it.
Each drawer behaves as a single basket machine, so times and temperatures transfer across unchanged. What changes is the planning: two foods with different times must be started at different moments, and the synchronise function most of these machines offer does that by delaying the shorter cook rather than by speeding it up. Total capacity is genuinely double, but each individual drawer is often slightly smaller than a comparable single-basket machine.
Does it genuinely air-fry?
Genuine air frying
Genuine. Two separate drawers, each with a basket or plate lifting food clear of the pan so air reaches underneath and fat drains away, and a published range to 200°C. Each drawer is small enough to recover quickly after loading. The steam system is an addition to that, not a replacement for it.
- Air moves fast, not just around
- Air reaches every surface of the food
- Recovers temperature quickly after loading
- Fat and moisture drain away
- Reaches genuine browning temperatures
What we know about this machine
Read from Philips 5000 Series Dual Basket Airfryer with Steam NA55x — User Manual (PDF), retrieved on 2026-10-09.
It is rated at 2750 W, which is toward the top of the domestic range and means it recovers temperature quickly after cold food goes in. It has 2 independent drawers, so two foods can cook at different temperatures at once — which buys variety rather than volume. It runs from 40°C to 200°C, and the low end is genuinely useful: it is enough to dehydrate, prove dough or hold food warm. On preheating: comes up to temperature quickly. It is sold as 9 litres, which measures the whole drawer including the space above the food that you must not fill.
The figures above are the manufacturer’s. What they mean for cooking is AirfryerHQ’s reading of them, not a measurement — nobody here has run this machine.

5 figures we could not establish
Each of these says WHY it is missing. “Not recorded by the sources consulted” means the manufacturer does not publish it in the document we read — not that nobody looked, and not that the figure does not exist.
- Usable cooking area
- Not recorded by the sources consulted — Not published.

What each setting actually does
Read from the manual. The first column is the name printed on the panel; the second is what that setting is in plain terms, so you can use advice written for somebody else’s appliance.
| On the panel | In plain terms | Starts at | Settable range | Preheat |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Airfry | Air fry | No temperature setting | 40–200°C | No |
| Steam&airfry | Steam with air frying | No temperature setting | Adjustable, range not published | No |
| Steam | Steam | 100°C | Fixed — cannot be changed | No |
| Reheat | Reheat | 150°C, 20 min | Adjustable, range not published | Not stated |
- Airfry: Available in both pans. Hot air only; the water tank is not used.
- Steam&airfry: Big pan only. Hot air with steam injected from the water tank; the temperature is adjustable and the manual's own table runs from 160°C to 200°C. The tank must be filled first.
- Steam: Big pan only. The manual states the temperature is fixed at 100°C and is not adjustable. The tank may need refilling if cooking runs over 50 minutes.
- Reheat: A preset, and it is a steam-with-air-fry preset: 150°C for 20 minutes, with the instruction to adjust the time to the food. It is a stored starting point rather than a separate way of heating.

- 220–240 V, 50 Hz
That figure is from this model’s own rating plate or documentation. A model sold under the same marketing name in another market may be different hardware — different code, capacity, wattage or supply — so check the plate on the machine in front of you rather than the name on the box.
A travel plug adapter changes the shape of the pins and nothing else. It does not convert voltage. Whether an appliance built for one mains standard can be used safely on another is a question about a two-kilowatt heating load, and it is one for a qualified electrician rather than for this page.
Error codes and display states
Only what this manufacturer publishes, and only for this manufacturer. A code means whatever the firmware author decided it means, and reading one across from another brand is the commonest way to misdiagnose a fault.
Published without a stated cause
E1- What the manual says it means
- The manual gives one possible cause: the appliance has been stored somewhere too cold to start.
- What to do
- Let the appliance warm to room temperature before plugging it in again. If the display still shows the code, contact the manufacturer's Consumer Care Center.
- Can it be reset?
- Yes, the manual says so
- Does it need service?
- The manual does not say
Something you can correct

Published without a stated cause
E4–E12- What the manual says it means
- The manual groups these together as a possible malfunction and publishes no individual meaning for any of them.
- What to do
- Unplug the appliance and plug it in again. If the code returns, stop using it and contact the manufacturer's Consumer Care Center.
- Can it be reset?
- Yes, the manual says so
- Does it need service?
- The manual does not say
Stop using it and contact the manufacturer
The manufacturer does not say what has failed, so there is nothing here to diagnose at home. One restart is what the manual offers; a code that comes back is a reason to stop, not to keep trying.

Steam cleaning runs for 20 minutes in the big pan's chamber — 15 of steam, 5 of drying — and loosens grease rather than removing it; the manual still expects the pan washed. Empty the water tank after every cook. The pans and basket are non-stick: no metal utensils, no abrasives. Let the appliance cool for about 30 minutes before cleaning.
Faults the manual documents, as printed
Only what the manufacturer publishes. AirfryerHQ does not invent the meaning of an error code, and where a manual documents one undifferentiated fault state that is what appears here.
“E1”
The manual gives one cause: the appliance may have been stored somewhere too cold.
Let it warm to room temperature before plugging it in again. If the code is still shown, the manual says to contact the manufacturer's Consumer Care Center.
“E4 to E12”
Described only as a possible malfunction. No individual meanings are published.
Unplug the appliance and plug it in again. If that does not clear it, the manual says to contact the Consumer Care Center — it gives no user repair.
The no-water icon flashes and the appliance beeps
The water tank is empty or is not seated properly, so water cannot reach the steam generator. The manual notes the fan and pump may sound strange when this happens.
Fill the tank to the MAX line, press it down into its groove on top of the appliance, and press Start again.
The descaling icon stays lit or flashes
A reminder that appears after about ten hours of steam use. Limescale is building up in the water system.
Run the descaling programme, which takes about 50 minutes. Use the method shown on the sticker on your appliance — water only, or the manufacturer's descaler. The manual prohibits vinegar and other acid descalers, and says that failing to descale voids the warranty.
Replaceable parts
AirfryerHQ holds no replacement-part details for Philips 5000 Series Dual Basket Airfryer with Steam NA555. That is a statement about this catalogue rather than about the appliance: every air fryer has a basket and most have a crisper plate, and the manual read for this model does not enumerate them in a way we could record. What can be replaced, and what to ask for covers the general case, including where to find the model number a parts desk will ask you for.
Accessories with something documented for this model
Statements read from this machine’s own documentation. AirfryerHQ does not infer that an accessory fits an appliance from its advertised capacity, and no manufacturer here publishes the dimensions that would let anybody do so.
Useful for a specific job
Multi-level rack
It adds a level. It does not double capacity: the one manufacturer that publishes loads for its own two-level rack gives less food across two levels than across one.
Useful for a specific job
Skewer rack
Genuinely good at the one job it does, and that job is narrower than the packaging suggests.
You probably do not need this
Disposable paper liners
Sold to save washing up, and the one comparison we have read found they do not: grease goes through. Several manufacturers forbid paper in the basket altogether.
Useful for a specific job
Silicone baking moulds
Useful if you bake in an air fryer, because a batter needs a container and small ones let the air between them. Not the same judgement as a silicone liner, for a reason worth understanding.
Recall and safety status
Recall status not checked
Recall status was not checked for this model when it was added on 9 October 2026. That is a statement about what we have looked up, not about the appliance — check the manufacturer and your national product-safety authority.
No verified recall or safety notice is currently recorded in AirfryerHQ for this appliance. That is a statement about this catalogue and not about the product: AirfryerHQ holds a small number of checked alerts and is not a copy of the UK register. Check the authority's own register before concluding that an appliance is unaffected.
The Office for Product Safety and Standards publishes the UK register of product safety alerts, reports and recalls on GOV.UK, and Electrical Safety First operates a recall checker for electrical appliances. Registering an appliance with its manufacturer is what makes a direct notification possible.
AirfryerHQ has no recall data feed and has not checked. That is not a clean bill of health — it is an absence of checking, and it is recorded as one. Check the manufacturer’s own recall page and your national product-safety register.
Finding the manual
Publishes a separate food table for each pan, with quantities. Four chicken drumsticks at 180°C take 23 minutes in the big pan and 29 in the small one; 800 g of thin frozen fries in the big pan and 300 g in the small take about the same time. The manual tells you not to exceed the table's amounts.
About this model
A 9-litre two-drawer machine with a water tank on top. The manufacturer splits the capacity as a 6-litre big pan and a 3-litre small pan, and the split is more than size: steam, steam with air frying, steam cleaning and descaling are all marked as working in the big pan only. So the useful way to think about it is one steam-capable air fryer with a small plain air fryer beside it, sharing a timer that can make them finish together. It is rated at 2,750 watts, which the manual itself flags as enough to trip a circuit shared with a kettle.
