How to tell, without a thermometer
- You have the model and serial number from the rating plate written down somewhere
If it has not got there: Register now — the model and serial number are on the rating plate, usually on the underside or the back near the cord. If the appliance is second-hand or the manufacturer no longer exists, check it against the OPSS register instead, and check it again occasionally.
Why this is the rule
Six Tower air fryers were recalled in 2025 for a fire risk, and a great many of them are still in kitchens, because there is no mechanism by which a recall finds an owner who has not registered. Every manual read this sprint asks for registration and one states the reason in a single sentence: the registration will enable us to contact you in the unlikely event of a product safety notification. It takes two minutes and it is the only thing on this page that requires no ongoing effort.
This outranks any cooking time on this site. Where a cooking recommendation cannot be reconciled with a rule like this one, AirfryerHQ does not publish the recommendation — not with a warning attached, not greyed out, not at all.
